Rev 1:1 The
revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the
things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his
servant John,
“The things that must
soon take place.” There are real
meanings to words and the way they are used. The Bible is literature, and holds
to the laws of literature. God is not a God of confusion.
Indeed the things did take place SOON! I know that most of
your bibles will date the book of Revelation at AD 95-96. There is, however, a
growing number of Scholars who argue that the book was written between AD 64-70
during or just after the reign of the Roman Emperor Nero. I am convinced that
the evidence for an early date is much stronger than those for a later date.
