A verse for 7/21/12

Mat 20:12  'These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.'
Mat 20:13  But he replied to one of them, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?
Mat 20:14  Take what belongs to you and go. I choose to give to this last worker as I give to you.
Mat 20:15  Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?'

Most people when they hear this story they say that the land owner was unfair. But, Jesus is not teaching about labor relations here, He is teaching about grace. The parable starts out with these words; "For the kingdom of heaven is like,” He is telling us what grace is like. It is grace, it has nothing to do with how much work has been done. God’s blessings come because of His loving grace.
