Why is it that most Christian people seem to live in spiritual poverty?
One reason is that there is a misconception of God as the divine equivalent of Ebeneezer Scrooge. The God who demands the last ounce of work out of His people and then pays them poorly.
We don’t have any trouble believing that God is able to do all things, but we don’t think He will. We don’t really believe Jesus loves to answer prayers. The fact is that we can never ask for to much, because we don’t earn it anyway, it is by grace!
