For the 22nd day of October 2013

10/22/13

Php 4:19  And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

The first time we see man doubting God was in the garden (Gen 3:1-5) When we doubt God we want to do things our way.
God is the generous landowner of the parable, and He continually goes into the marketplace to find those who are in need of a day’s wages.
One of the hardest things for us to do is to rely on God’s grace and God’s grace only. It makes us dependent, and we want to be self-sufficient. We want to pay our way. The saying goes; “There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Do you think the workers that only worked for one hour felt a little guilty? Do you think that they wanted to have worked all day so that they would have felt better about getting a full day’s pay?
We experience the grace of God far more than we know. But we don’t enjoy it most of the time because we are trying to live by merit. We want to look at our works and we fail to see the superabundance of God’s grace and the blessing that He gives us everyday.
