Rom 8:32 He
who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also
with him graciously give us all things?
To believe that God gives His blessing because of His grace
and not because of our merit is almost a foreign thing. It is not what we have
been told all of our life. We have been told, “work hard, pay your dues and you
will be rewarded.” My dad’s favorite verse (which is not in the bible) was,
“God helps those who help themselves.”
God’s grace does not work on a reward for works basis. It is far better
than that!
