A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/31/15

3/31/15

Joh 18:1  When Jesus had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples across the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which he and his disciples entered.

Next time you are looking at a garden think about Jesus who also liked a garden.

I hope that you have a wonderful rest of this Spring!

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/30/15

3/30/15

Gen 2:15  The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.
Gen 2:16  And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "You may surely eat of every tree of the garden,
Gen 2:17  but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."

God put man in the garden to “keep it.” It was not a hard thing to keep the garden, it was an enjoyable thing. Go and get your hands in the dirt!

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/29/15

3/29/15

Gen 2:8  And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed.
Gen 2:9  And out of the ground the LORD God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Gen 2:10  A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, and there it divided and became four rivers.
Gen 2:11  The name of the first is the Pishon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.
Gen 2:12  And the gold of that land is good; bdellium and onyx stone are there.
Gen 2:13  The name of the second river is the Gihon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Cush.
Gen 2:14  And the name of the third river is the Tigris, which flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

The rivers flowed out from the garden, so we know that the garden was on top of a mountain. It has been referred to as the “mountain of God” The “River of life” always flows out from God.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/28/15

3/28/15

Eze 28:13  You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared.

The garden of Eden was more beautiful than we think, all of the precious stones were there.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/27/15

3/27/15

Gen 13:10  And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of Zoar. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)

When God planted a garden and put man in it, it was so beautiful and lush. The place that Lot chose was like that, it even compares it to “the garden of the LORD.” Much like Eden; Notice, (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/26/15

3/26/15

Eze 31:3  Behold, Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches and forest shade, and of towering height, its top among the clouds.

I love it when the trees get all of their leaves and give shade, it is hope to our souls to see God’s creation come back to life.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/25/15

3/25/15

Job 8:11  "Can papyrus grow where there is no marsh? Can reeds flourish where there is no water?
Job 8:12  While yet in flower and not cut down, they wither before any other plant.
Job 8:13  Such are the paths of all who forget God; the hope of the godless shall perish.

Jesus said that He gives living water. We need the living water every day or we dry up and wither. You can look at His creation and know this is true.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/24/15

3/24/15

Jer 17:7  "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD.
Jer 17:8  He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit."

What a wonderful thing water is. All through the Bible we see water and the true water is the river of life water. As the earth comes back to life after a long winter it needs water, and we need the living water than Jesus Christ gives us.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/23/15

3/23/15

Psa 1:1  Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
Psa 1:2  but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
Psa 1:3  He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
Psa 1:4  The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Psa 1:5  Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
Psa 1:6  for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

I hope that you see yourself like a tree planted by the river; The river of life (Jesus Christ) and look at the creation of God and see and know that He loves you.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/22/15

3/22/15

Isa 46:8  "Remember this and stand firm, recall it to mind, you transgressors,
Isa 46:9  remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me,
Isa 46:10  declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,'

I love this time of the year, when we have been closed in for a long winter and then comes the new growth and warmer weather. I have been encouraging you to get out and take part in it. I want you to always take notice that it was God, and none other that has made the spring to come. And in fact He knew this spring from the beginning.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/21/15

3/21/15

Isa 40:8  The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

As we take in the God caused beauty of this Spring, remember this, The created thing will fade away but God’s word will stand forever.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/20/15

3/20/15

Eze 31:9  I made it beautiful in the mass of its branches, and all the trees of Eden envied it, that were in the garden of God.

Exekiel is using an example of a large beautiful tree to show the power and grandeur of Assyria, even though it was noting for God to dismantle it. But use of this description give us an emotion of the beauty in God’s nature for us to enjoy.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/19/15

3/19/15

Gen 2:9  And out of the ground the LORD God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Gen 2:10  A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, and there it divided and became four rivers.

There is something about God’s creation that is comforting to our soul. To stand among the tall trees that shadow a giant river on a warm summer day will mend you. Let God’s wonderful earth touch your heart as you go out and take it in.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/18/15

3/18/15

Gen 2:8  And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed.

In the time we live in we have available for our eye the photographs of beautiful gardens from all parts of the world. And sometime we have acutely seen some of them in reality. But the garden that God planted must have been spectacular.

Go see a beautiful garden and give God the praise for it.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/17/15

3/17/15

Psa 150:2  Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness!

Today would be a good day to praise God for His beautiful and mighty deeds. So go see some of them.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/16/15

3/16/15

Hos 10:12  Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.

We can look all around us at the created things and learn lessons about our walk with God. Our hearts and souls need to be like, new plowed ground in the spring that is ready to be planted with seeds for the crop ahead, when we start our day with prayer and Bible reading so that whatever seed God wants to put there will have a good start.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/15/15

3/15/15

Isa 58:8  Then shall your light break forth like the dawn…

If you have never got up early in the morning, and sat down in a place where you can see the Sunrise, then you should do it. Even if you have you should spend the time to do it again in an attitude of prayer and meditation.

Saturday, March 14, 2015

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/14/15

3/14/15

Hos 6:3  Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth."

Maybe we will have a spring rain today, if we do or if we don’t, God is the one that controls that and He is the reason that our plants will grow.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/13/15

3-13-15

Col 1:16  For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
Col 1:17  And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

When you look and savior God’s creation please be aware that it is God’s creation. And note also that nothing in all creation could hold together were it not for Him holding it together.

He is doing a very good job at holding it!

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/12/15

3/12/15

Psa 50:10  For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.
Psa 50:11  I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine.

The next time you have the opportunity to watch a beast of the forest or a bird on the hill, stop and remember that they are God’s, and that they are there for you to enjoy.

So enjoy!

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/11/15

3/11/15

Psa 40:5  You have multiplied, O LORD my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you! I will proclaim and tell of them, yet they are more than can be told.

O what a wonderful, incomparable God we have. He has allowed us to see and to share His wondrous deeds. Get out and experience some of them today!

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/10/15

3/10/15

Gen 1:11  And God said, "Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth." And it was so.
Gen 1:12  The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

There is a great desire to get outside and plant something, it is a thing of God Himself and for His glory, and it is good.

But I think we should wait a little longer to plant stuff.

A Spring Morning with God's Word 3/9/15

3/9/15

Neh 8:10  Then he said to them, "Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

Whatever this day holds for you may the joy of the lord be your strength.

Sunday, March 8, 2015

A Spring morning with God's word 3/8/15

3/8/15

Psa 118:24  This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Even though the wind may come against you and the cold prevail; trust God and rejoice. Because God made this day and He knew that you would be in it, even before the world began.

A Spring with God's word 3/7/15

3/7/15

Psa 104:24  O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.

I think a good way to praise God for the creatures He has made for your enjoyment, would be a trip to the Zoo.  Have a wonderful spring day! I do hope it’s a warm day today.

A Spring with God's word 3/6/15

3/6/15

Psa 19:1  …. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

When you go outside on a clear night and look into the sky above it is a proclamation of the goodness of our creator to us. Take the time to enjoy what God has created for you.

Thursday, March 5, 2015

A Spring with God's word 3/5/15

3/5/15

Gal 2:20  I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

He loved me and gave Himself for me, and you!
That is truly good.

Wednesday, March 4, 2015

A Spring with God's word 3/4/15

3/4/15

Rom 8:28  And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

At various times in life we have trouble knowing what good really is. We want good to always be fun, but real good is the glory of God. And God does work all things for good! To the glory of God and for your benefit.

Tuesday, March 3, 2015

A spring with God's word 3/3/15

3/3/15

Gen 1:31  And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.

All of God’s creation is good, and is here for you to appreciate.

I don’t know if today will be warm and sunny or not, but see the good in it no matter what it is like outside.

Monday, March 2, 2015

A spring with God's word 3/2/15

3/2/15

Ecc 3:11  He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

As the song says, “Everything is beautiful in it's own way.
Like the starry summer night, or a snow-covered winter's day.
And everybody's beautiful in their own way.
Under God's heaven, the world's gonna find the way.”

So get out there and enjoy it!

A spring with God's word 3/1/15

3/1/15

Ecc 3:1  For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

Spring is the time to come alive, As the Army saying goes, “be all that you can be!”

It’s time to get out of the house and off of the couch, turn off the TV and the video games. And enjoy the world around you that God has so freely given us.
