1Pe 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
One of my favorite songs has a verse that says;
“My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!”
Your sins and my sins, not in part but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and we bare them no more!
That is the gospel! That means all of your sins, and all of my sins, ALL of them! Not just the past ones but; past, present, and future sins have all been nailed to the cross! We were sick with sin and “By his wounds you have been healed!”
