Jos 24:2 And
Joshua said to all the people, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel,
'Long ago, your fathers lived beyond the Euphrates, Terah, the father of
Abraham and of Nahor; and they served other gods.
Jos 24:3 Then I took
your father Abraham from beyond the River and led him through all the land of
Canaan, and made his offspring many. I gave him Isaac.
If you read the bible at all you will have to have some
opinion about election, it may not be a full Calvinist opinion, but you must
deal with it because it is plainly in the word and you cannot get around that
fact.
God chose Abraham to be the father of His people, a man that
served other gods!
God chose him! And it most certainly did not have anything
to do with Abraham seeking God, because he served other gods.
