A verse for 10/4/12

Rom 8:28  And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Rom 8:29  For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
Rom 8:30  And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
Rom 8:31  What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Rom 8:32  He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

Faith in a sovereign God endures “as seeing Him who is invisible” (Heb. 11:27): endures the disappointments, the hardships, and the heart-aches of life, by recognizing that all comes from the hand of Him who is to wise to make a mistake and too loving to be unkind. But so long as we are occupied with any other object than God Himself, there will be neither rest for the heart nor peace for the mind. But when we receive all that enters our lives as from His hand, then, no matter what may be our circumstance or surroundings---whether the death of a loved one, or any other bad news, or even on a martyr’s stake---we shall be able to say, “it is well with my soul.”
