Pro 27:1 Do
not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
There is a book that was written for High Schoolers, that
was titled “If God Loves Me, Why Can’t I Get locker Opened?”
Life is full of little mundane events that are pale and
insignificant compared to truly tragic things. But sometimes it’s the little
things that make us want to wonder, “Can I trust God?”
In the things the word teaches us about trusting God in
adversity, there are three that we must believe if we are going to trust Him.
God is
completely sovereign.
God is
infinite in wisdom.
God is
perfect in love.
Consider this verse; Lam 3:37-38 Who has
spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it? Is it not from
the mouth of the Most High that good and bad come?
A lot of people don’t like this they say things like “if
there is a loving God, why are there bad things?” Jesus told Pilate that God was sovereign over
the good and the bad, when He said in Joh 19:11 "You
would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from
above."
Paul said that God’s
judgments are unsearchable;
Rom 11:33 Oh,
the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are
his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
Just because we don’t know the mind of God is not a reason
to distrust.
You can trust God. And that is the only true peace you can
have in this life.
