2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That
the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Why is it that the word “Doctrine” holds such a stigma these
days? I think that we are in a generation that wants to be entertained, and not
taught. We fear that someone will impose
his or her ideas on us, and that may happen if you don’t study, 2Ti 2:15 Do your
best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be
ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
Entertainment is the topic at hand these days, just visit
most any household and the reading material of choice in their home is, most
likely, the TV Guide, or now-a-days the guide on the remote.
Doctrine is teaching, plain and simple. Joh 8:32 and you
will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." If we don’t
have doctrine then we can’t know the truth.
I know that I talk about Gods Sovereignty a lot, and that is
because I want you to have “the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding.” This month we will look,
once again, at the fact that God is God and we are not!
