Mat 16:27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.
Mat 16:28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."
Jesus knew the approximate time of his return and the Judgment. He guaranteed they would occur within the lifetime of some of the people He was talking to.
(Some translations insert a paragraph break at verse 28. However, The Greek New Testament (UBS), on which most modern Bibles are based, does not.)
Jesus promised his followers that the kingdom would soon come (Matt. 16:28).
