A verse for 4/8/14

4/8/14

Even if you did not grow up in church or was thought much about God, you know that Sunday’s are a special day. Why is that? It is because God said so! I know we can get into a debate about what day the Sabbath Day is but the day of the week is not the important thing, God said to have a day of rest from your work. Now, even that can start a lot of debate. Like, do we keep a bunch of rules? And if so; which ones? The Pharisees had a lot of rules, and as a matter of fact so do the churches of today. The point of the Sabbath Day rest is to be serene before God and with God, not hindered by the work of the week behind or before you. When we get a lone and serene before God you can focus all of you and meditate on God and His glory. That’s what coming together at church, and singing the praise song do for you, you begin to meditate on Him and, at times, you forget all about who else is there and worship God, really worship God. That’s what real meditation is all about!

Exo 20:8  "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
