In TM (Transcendental
Meditation) you use a “Mantra”
man·tra
[man-truh, mahn-, muhn-] .
Hinduism. a word or
formula, as from the Veda, chanted or sung as an incantation or prayer.
an often repeated word, formula, or phrase, often a truism: If
I hear the “less is more” mantra one more time, I'll scream.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has been given credit for coming up
with a “Mantra” for meditation. But I think
the bible gives us some examples of using a “Mantra”. For example; in Isaiah chapter 6 when Isaiah
was in the Temple and he saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted
up, and his train filled the temple. And he saw the above it seraphims: And one
cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts:
the whole earth is full of his glory. I think the seraphims were using a “Mantra” to
express the holiness of God in there meditation of HIM!
And in Revelations
4:8 the word holy is used 3 times in a row.
To repeat a word in the Hebrew is to give a greater infuses to that word
to repeat it three times is even more so.
Just as a side note
the word goes on to say about the time when Isaiah saw the Lord in the temple
it says;
Isa 6:4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice
of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
Isa 6:5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am
undone;
I guarantee you if
you come in contact with the LORD you will know that you are undone!
