A verse for 4/30/14

4/30/14

Rom 11:33  Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
Rom 11:34  "For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?"
Rom 11:35  "Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?"
Rom 11:36  For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

I hope that meditation will be a part of your spiritual life from now on and that it is always about God, and not about reaching “a state of nirvana”

A verse for 4/29/14

4/29/14

Eph 3:14  For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
Eph 3:15  from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,
Eph 3:16  that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
Eph 3:17  so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
Eph 3:18  may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
Eph 3:19  and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

I am sure that you noticed that this is all one sentence, we have broken it up into verses but Paul said it all as one point.
I pray that we would all be strengthened and that we would comprehend, and be filled.

A verse for 4/28/14

4/28/14

Rom 12:19  Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."
Rom 12:20  To the contrary, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head."
Rom 12:21  Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

What a wonderful chapter! We could meditate on this chapter alone for a long time.

A verse for 4/27/14

4/27/14

Rom 12:17  Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
Rom 12:18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

The phrase here to “give thought” is a call to meditate on something.
And sometimes it may not be possible to live at peace with someone.

A verse for 4/26/14

4/26/14

Rom 12:14  Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
Rom 12:15  Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Rom 12:16  Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.

I think when we get all of this down we can stop meditating.

A verse for 4/25/14

4/25/14

Rom 12:12  Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Rom 12:13  Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality

Man O man! Don’t ever say, “I can’t think of what to meditate on.”
