Easter 2013

3/31/13                         HAPPY EASTER!

Rom 11:34  "For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?"
Rom 11:35  "Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?"
Rom 11:36  For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

Why must we hang in there day after day, even when things seem to be going wrong? Because according to Rom 8:28  “we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.....  to be conformed to the image of his Son,”  So if you live to be 109 years old, keep on doing the right thing! And keep His peace with you  as you keep going on, and on, and on, for the glory of God. “Onward, Christian Soldiers!” And be confident! Not in yourself, but in Him!

An old song that was sung in the churches that my parents took me to as a child that we don’t sing much anymore is much more than just a song, it is a prayer and it declares a commitment to enduring the long haul.
          I’m pressing on the upward way,
          New height I’m gaining every day;
          Still praying as I onward bound,
          Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

          Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
          By faith, on heaven’s table land,
          A higher plane than I have found;
          Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

Rom 11:33  Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!

If you feel like you are just not accomplishing much and that you are just taking up room here, think again. God is at work in you this day and He will accomplish what needs to be accomplished in you today; hang in there. God is still GOD, and will forever-be GOD!

For the self-achiever read this slowly and notice the last sentence that starts with the word, “But”

Php 3:4-7  though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law, blameless. But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.

Paul knew that the works done in the flesh did not hold any merit with God; He also was the prime example of steadfastness.

Eph 1:11  In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,

Steadfastness, perseverance, longsuffering, and faithfulness is good for us, and in Him we have obtained! Praise God! He works all things according to His will! And in Him we have obtained an inheritance!!  Keep on keeping on!

Isa 55:8  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.  10 "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Never grow weary of telling God's word. It is our responsibility to keep on telling it and it is God's responsibility to make sure it does not return to Himself empty. And He will accomplish His purpose! Do the right thing, and say the right things. Stay steadfast in the LORD.

Job 23:13  But he is unchangeable, and who can turn him back? What he desires, that he does.
Job 23:14  For he will complete what he appoints for me, and many such things are in his mind.

In Eph 2:10 it says;  “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”   So by faith today, get up and do whatever it is that you have to do today, and know that it is appointed for you. I did not say that, the Bible did. And the will of God never relive you of your responsibility. Do the right thing!

Isa 46:11  calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it.

Whatever it takes God's will will be accomplished! God will see to it. We just need to keep on doing the right thing. And have faith about that!
