Psa 119:65 You
have dealt well with your servant, O LORD, according to your word.
Psa 119:66 Teach me
good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments.
Psa 119:67 Before I
was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word.
Psa 119:68 You are
good and do good; teach me your statutes.
Psa 119:69 The
insolent smear me with lies, but with my whole heart I keep your precepts;
Psa 119:70 their
heart is unfeeling like fat, but I delight in your law.
Psa 119:71 It is good
for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes.
Psa 119:72 The law of
your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.
In verse 71 he says;
“It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn
your statutes.”
Sometimes we think that anything that appears to bad, is
bad! But Romans 8:28 & 29says;
“all things work together for good, for those who are called
according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son.”
And in Heb 12:6 & 7 it says;
“The Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every
son whom he receives.”
When we learn His word (learn your statutes) Then we are
being “conformed to the image of his Son.”
