Psa 23:4 Even
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
The bible uses figurative language all the time and for many
reasons. All of creation is used, mountain and valley, hill and plain, lake and
river, sea and sky, summer and winter, seedtime and harvest, trees, shrubs, and
flowers, beast and birds, men and women, tribes and nations, governments and
religions false and true and innumerable other things. Can you imagine a bible
without these things?
