Eph 6:5
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a
sincere heart, as you would Christ,
Eph 6:6 not by the
way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the
will of God from the heart,
Eph 6:7 rendering
service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man,
Eph 6:8 knowing that
whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he
is a slave or free.
Christians have always sought to being dignity to work,
as well as a sense of calling to our vocation. The very concept of a
"work ethic' has its roots in the Protestant movement. Christians have
also championed the values of property rights and individual freedom.
