Our knowledge of God is always tainted by our sinfulness and is imperfect, God, on the other hand, has a perfect, holy knowledge of us.

Psa 51:1  …A Psalm of David,… Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.

Thought;

To know God, is to know that He is merciful, and that His love is steadfast, and He is a just and a holy God, but I am so glad that He gives us mercy because of His justice. God will never violate His justice, He will never say, “Oh I love you so much that I will overlook that.”  NO!  His justice will not allow that. This is why Jesus Christ came; to pay the penalty for sin. And now God is just in given us mercy.

Psa 3:3  But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

Thought;

A shield protects, and the LORD is the greatest protector there is. The more we know Him the more we know that! May we know our Father! As the child, guilty, with his head hanging down, and the forgiving, loving father takes our chin in his hand and lifts our head until our eyes meet his, and we see his smiling face;;; HE is the lifter of our head!

To know the word of the LORD is to know Him, and when we know Him we have a safe hiding place.

Oh that we would know Him with an indulgence of great passion. To know first hand the sweeter than honey idea of Him and His word.

Just to look at food is not good enough, you must taste it to know the true flavors of it. So it is with God! Come, taste and see for yourself! So you may KNOW HIM.
