Eph 2:8 For by
grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is
the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 not a result
of works, so that no one may boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are
his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand,
that we should walk in them.
If you are created in Christ Jesus, by His workmanship and you
are, and He prepared good works in advance for you to do, and He did. Then step
out today and do them, by faith of course because that is the only way we can
please Him.
I’m sure you have noticed the order of events in the above
verses, but allow me to point out the obvious; The saving by grace is first in
the sequence and then he tells you, in case you didn’t get it, that you had
nothing to do with that and then he makes the point by saying that it is not by
any works so you can’t brag about it. Now comes the works for you to do, and even
they are prepared by God!
