A verse for 12/6/11

Luk 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord…!

Here the referred to person is John the Baptist. He was great because he was the single greatest representative of the prophetic office, the forerunner of the Messiah. In fact, it is said of him that there had been none greater than the John the Baptist.
