A verse for 5/31/14

5/31/14

Rom 9:19  You will say to me then, "Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?"
Rom 9:20  But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, "Why have you made me like this?"
Rom 9:21  Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?
Rom 9:22  What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,
Rom 9:23  in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory--
Rom 9:24  even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?
Rom 9:25  As indeed he says in Hosea, "Those who were not my people I will call 'my people,' and her who was not beloved I will call 'beloved.'"

God is God and we are not!

A verse for 5/30/14

5/30/14

Joh 6:37  All that the Father gives me will come to me….

Joh 6:65  And he said, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father."

You cannot even come unless it is granted to you by the Father, and when the Father gives you to the Son you will come.

A verse for 5/29/14

5/29/14

Eph 2:8  For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9  not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Eph 2:10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

You can’t boast about your salvation, it is a gift from God! You are His workmanship!

A verse for 5/28/14

5/28/14

Rom 9:16  So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.

If God were not a God of mercy, and you had to exert your will to be saved, you would be out of luck, But God is a God of mercy.

A verse for 5/27/14

5/27/14

Tit 3:5  he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy….

I thank God for His mercy all the time, and I know that we can never have enough merit to put God under obligation to save us.

A verse for 5/26/14

5/26/14

Rom 9:11  Before the children had been born or had done anything good or bad, Rebekah was told that the older child would serve the younger one. This was said to Rebekah so that God's plan would remain a matter of his choice,
Rom 9:12  a choice based on God's call and not on anything people do.

“SO THAT GOD'S PLAN WOULD REMAIN A MATTER OF HIS CHOICE”
